286 NB Upgrade Information

Caution Only authorized service personnel should upgrade the system. Anyone who wants to upgrade the system themselves should know about the dangers of ESD (Electro-Static Discharge) and the necessary precautions. Unknowingly zapping the components of the computer will void the warranty.
 
Memory
Use proprietary memory modules that can hold 1MB or 4MB of memory in SIPPs.

The mainboard has two memory module sockets. Use proprietary SIPPs to expand the standard 1 MB below. RAM to 2,4,5, or 8 MB. Refer to table

Install 5 MB by inserting the 4MB SIPP on Slot 1 and the 1MB SIPP on Slot 2.

Extended/Expanded Memory Allocation
The following are the possible combinations of RAM sizes in the Notebook's CMOS setup:

Math CO-Processor
An 80C287 co-processor can be installed in socket U41, no jumpers need to be changed.

Cache Memory
This system does not support cache memory.

Video Memory
This system has the video memory soldered (not upgradeable).
