Caution Only authorized service personnel should upgrade the system. Anyone who wants to upgrade the system themselves should know about the dangers of ESD (Electro-Static Discharge) and the necessary precautions. Unknowingly zapping the components of the computer will void the warranty.

SIMM Installation
SIMM Removal

  1. SIMM speed must be 70ns or faster.
  2. This system has two SIMM sockets which are banks 1 and 2. The onboard RAM is in bank 0.
  3. The SIMMs are 72-pin and can be x32 or x36. The motherboard design does not require parity checking, meaning either x32 (non-parity) or x36 (parity) can be used. It does not require that the parity jumper be changed if the x36(parity) simm type is used. There is no support for EDO SIMMs.

Note
This table takes 256k Shadow Ram into consideration when providing the total for Extended Memory. Example: 3200k = 4096k - (640k 256k)

Note
When two 32 MB SIMMS are installed, the SMT memory needs to be disabled. This is done by jumping J37 (On Board Memory Disable). On Board Memory does Not need to be disabled if one 32 MB SIMM is to be installed.
