PB 86 R, PB 486T, and Force 486/25 CPU Upgrade Information

Warning Only authorized service personnel should upgrade the system. Anyone who wants to upgrade the system herself/himself should know about the dangers of ESD (Electro-Static Discharge) and the necessary precautions. Unknowingly zapping the components of the computer will void the warranty.

The CPU may be replaced with the Intel Overdrive Processor. The Overdrive chip must be removed and the original CPU installed before any onsite service. Due to the dangers of ESD, either process must be done by an authorized service center technician for systems still under warranty. Intel has tested the Overdrive Processor in the FORCE 486/25.

Note

The 486T motherboard uses 238 pin type 2 socket.
