SiS 5598 Video Chipset Setup

This chipset is a Plug and Play card which will setup automatically upon detection.

In case the driver files are missing or destroyed, the setup information file is located on the Windows 98 Master CD(s) at: X:\win98\windows\inf (X = CD-ROM drive letter).
The Driver files CD-ROM folder X:\win98\windows\options\cabs (X = CD-ROM drive letter).

Installation Of The SiS 5598 Video Chipset Drivers

  1. Remove all Display Adapter devices in Windows Device Manager.
  2. Reboot computer.
  3. In case the driver files are missing or destroyed, the setup information file is located on the Windows 98 Master CD at:
    X:\win98\windows\inf\sis597.inf (X = CD-ROM drive letter).
  4. The Driver files are located on the CD-ROM at:
    X:\win98\windows\options\cabs (X = CD-ROM drive letter).

Note
Windows will setup the display adapter, then require an additional reboot to finish setting up the display adapter and the monitor.
