Creative Labs Sound 128 Live Hardware Installation Instructions

Caution Only authorized service personnel should upgrade the system. Anyone who wants to upgrade the system themselves should know about the dangers of ESD (Electro-Static Discharge) and the necessary precautions. Unknowingly zapping the components of the computer will void the warranty.

  1. Follow the computer system manual's safety instruction for case and panel cover removal.
  2. Locate an available empty PCI slot. (Usually a short white slot).
  3. Remove the slot cover screw and slot cover.
  4. Line up the Creative Labs Live 128 into the empty slot and slowly push in until the card is secure.
  5. Follow the Creative Lab Live 128 manual instructions for sound card to CD ROM connection.
  6. Replace slot screw, panel cover and case.
  7. All cord connections to the Creative Lab Live 128 sound card are color coded (Blue, Black, Green, Red).
  8. Plug in color coded connections.
  9. Power up the computer system.
  10. Follow screen instructions for new hardware/software installation.
