Forte 16 SB3 or SBP Software Install

1.	Installation Procedure

a.	Insert the driver disk 1 into the 3.5" drive.

b.	Log onto the drive by typing A: or B: and hitting <Enter>.

c.	Type INSTALL and press <Enter>.

d.	Select "Start Installation" from the Main menu.

e.	Press <Enter> to confirm the default drive "C Drive."

f.	Press <Enter> to confirm the default directory "FORTE16".

g.	Answer "YES" to the question "Do you have MS Windows version 3.1 currently installed in your system?."

h.	Press <Enter> to confirm the default path for Windows, "C:\WINDOWS"

Press <Enter> to accept the changes to the AUTOEXEC.BAT file.

m. Windows is launched. Press <Enter> to accept the default directory "C:\FORTE16" for the sound software.

n. Insert Disk 2 as prompted, then press <Enter>.

o. Insert Disk 3 as prompted, then press <Enter>.

p. The program installs Windows utility.

q. Select "NO" to skip EasyStart, and exit to DOS.

2. Installed Windows Software The following programs are installed in the FORTE-16 Utilities group.

a. Mixer Control

Mixer modifies the mixer setting of the Sound Galaxy PRO 16 sound card.

b. Windat

This program records .WAV files. WinDAT writes the file as it is recording, so the size of the .WAV is limited only to the available space of the hard drive.

c. Say It!

Say It! records and pastes .WAV files into other OLE compliant applications.

d. AudioStation

This is an integrated audio control program. In the various modules of this program, .WAV files can be recorded and played back, .MID files can be recorded and played back, and CD audio tracks can be played.

e. Midi Orchestrator

Plays and edits .MID files.

f. Audio Calendar

Changes the Windows background to a "desktop calendar." When a day is double-clicked, a screen displays that allows a message to be recorded.

g. Sound Events

Attaches sounds (.WAV) files to various Windows events.

h. Windows Jukebox

In Jukebox, you can create a list of "songs" to be played. These "songs" can be a mixture of .WAV files, .MID files, and CD Audio tracks.
