Packard Bell sound cards support Internet Phone, Web Phone,
and other such software. Full-duplex sound is only needed if the
end-user wishes to speak and listen at the same time. To work
like a basic speakerphone (or a walkie-talkie), a half-duplex
sound card can be used. Although Rocky I and Rocky II cards support
full-duplex on the hardware side, there is no driver to support
it presently.
Other applications such as voice recognition programs
require full-duplex sound capability only if they need to accept
audio input while playing sound.
